We should do what we love, and I love to write. So, I quit my well paying job as a project engineer, cashed out my 401K and moved from Illinois to Florida where I began writing my first book, The Postcard , which was published in 2007 and relaunched in 2011 for Amazon’s Kindle.
Do, I miss the money, hell yes, but is everything about money? Not to me.
But, it really wasn’t until I attended the Iowa Writer’s Workshop, that I knew I was meant to write. Surrounded by other writers who understood the need, and the burning hunger inside that haunts your soul to write, I wrote and published my first story, Let Them Eat Cake, a humorous story of my fight to overcome breast cancer. My fellow writers yelled at me to, “quit taking classes and write damn books, Cindy.” I listened.
I now live in Florida, with my husband, Mark and our three dogs: Sophie, Maddie and Moose. My daughter, Ashley is an amazing teacher in Florida and is married to Isaac, a very old soul.
My third book, “Spilled Coffee & Broken Cups” a humorous story of a woman’s drive away from one life and into another, will be available for purchase shortly on Amazon.
